Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim
Employment Tribunal Set for Dan Walker Following Bullying Claims
Dan Walker, a prominent TV presenter, is set to participate in an employment tribunal after his former Channel 5 News co-host, Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, filed a lawsuit alleging workplace bullying. ITN, the network’s producer, and Paramount, its parent company, are also named as respondents in the case, as stated by Vanderpuije’s legal representative.
The Mail on Sunday, which initially reported the story, claims that Walker is accused of sexism and misogyny alongside bullying. However, Walker denies the allegations and has gathered over 50 character witness statements to support his case, according to the newspaper’s sources.
“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said an ITN spokesperson.
An internal inquiry into the allegations against Walker was not upheld, with no evidence of misconduct found. The trial, scheduled to start in London on 20 April, will last for five weeks, as confirmed by Jonathan Coad, Vanderpuije’s lawyer.
Vanderpuije and Walker began their collaboration on Channel 5 News in 2022, but she left the channel in 2024. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, has also been included as a respondent in the legal action. Both Walker and Paramount have been contacted for their comments on the matter.
Background on the Parties Involved
Walker, who has previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, was paired with Vanderpuije as a co-host on Channel 5 News. The case now centers on the allegations she has raised against him, with the tribunal expected to determine the validity of these claims.
