Essex Police responded to Long Hide, a location in the village of Leaden Roding near Dunmow, at 22:45 BST on Friday. Upon arrival, they discovered a 19-year-old woman suffering from severe injuries. Despite immediate medical intervention, she was confirmed dead at the scene, according to the police force.

Man Arrested in Connection with the Incident

A 37-year-old man from Dunmow was taken into custody on suspicion of failing to control a dog dangerously and causing fatal injuries. The dog was removed from the area, and specialist officers secured the location to ensure safety.

“This tragedy will deeply affect the local community,” said Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper. “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased. We will have officers stationed in the area today for further inquiries and to address any concerns from residents.”
