Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead
A 14-year-old boy was fatally injured in Woolwich, southeast London, during a shooting incident on Lord Warwick Street at approximately 15:40 BST on Thursday. The victim, Eghosa Ogbebor, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Following the tragedy, the Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old man on Saturday. Additionally, a 46-year-old man was detained for suspected involvement in aiding the perpetrator. Earlier, three suspects—two boys aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—were taken into custody on Friday but released on bail.
“Our team of detectives remains committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding Eghosa’s death,” said Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, who is overseeing the investigation. “Residents may have observed heightened police activity last night as further arrests were made. We recognize the worry this incident has caused, especially within the local community, and expect continued patrols in the area.”
