Murder charge over Primrose Hill stabbing
A 21-year-old man, Finbar Sullivan, was fatally stabbed near the viewpoint in Primrose Hill. The incident occurred on Tuesday, and authorities confirmed the victim’s death. The Metropolitan Police revealed that Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27, from Enfield, was arrested on Friday and formally charged with murder on Sunday.
Ogunyankinnu is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of aiding the accused, has been released without further charges. The ongoing investigation into the case continues, with no definitive conclusions reached yet.
Officers also discovered another individual in his 20s with stab wounds on Regent’s Park Road. He was hospitalized, though his injuries were not considered severe or permanently disabling. Sullivan, a film student at the London Screen Academy, had been described by friends and family as a cherished figure. His father, Chris Sullivan, 65, shared heartfelt remarks with BBC London.
“He was the light, the leader. His friends’ parents loved him. This is why it’s so tragic,” Chris Sullivan said.
Sullivan was referred to by loved ones as Fin, a nickname that highlights his close-knit community ties. The Met has not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading to the stabbing, leaving the case open for further scrutiny.
