Turkish School Shooting Claims Four Lives

A minimum of four individuals were killed and several others wounded during a shooting at Ayser Calik Secondary School in Kahramanmaras, southern Turkey, as confirmed by the local governor. The attacker, whose identity remains undisclosed, entered two classrooms and was armed with five firearms and seven ammunition magazines, according to preliminary reports. No official details have been released about the victims or the attacker’s fate.

This follows a similar incident the previous day, where an ex-student opened fire at a high school in the same region, leaving 16 injured before taking his own life. Kahramanmaras Governor Mukerrem Unluer noted that at least 20 people were affected in the latest attack, with some in critical condition. The motive behind Wednesday’s shooting is still under investigation.

“The sound of gunfire was very intense,” a reporter for Turkish broadcaster NTV described, highlighting the chaos witnessed at the school. “Panic spread quickly among the crowd.” Footage from the scene captured onlookers, some recording on their phones, and ambulances evacuating the area.
