GB News confirmed that broadcaster Eamonn Holmes is receiving medical care following a stroke. The incident occurred last week, and the channel stated that Holmes is “recovering positively under treatment.” His colleagues at GB News expressed hope for a swift recovery, with fellow presenter Alex Armstrong set to cover his duties temporarily.
“Holmes is a cherished figure in the GB News family,” said CEO Angelos Frangopoulos.

The veteran presenter has navigated multiple broadcasting platforms over the years. He began his career with UTV’s Good Evening Ulster before transitioning to GMTV for its debut in January 2003, a role he held until 2005. Later, Holmes co-hosted Sky News’ Sunrise program and joined ITV’s This Morning alongside Ruth Langsford, whom he married in 2010.
In 2024, a spokesperson noted that Holmes and Langsford “announced the end of their marriage and that divorce proceedings are underway.” His contributions to media were recognized in the 2018 New Year’s Honours List, where he was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting.
