A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, lost his life in a collision involving a car, a bicycle, and a scooter in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 23:50 BST on Friday. Two other teenagers were seriously injured and taken to hospital. His family has since shared heartfelt memories of the young boy, describing him as a joyous and lively individual.
“He cherished time with friends and family, who were the center of his universe.” “Though football was his passion, he was equally skilled in rugby, cricket, and athletics, showing versatility in sports.” “Beyond structured games, Noah thrived on staying physically active and exploring new adventures, whether at the gym or the bike park.”
The family expressed profound grief, calling Noah “a fun, bright, handsome, athletic” child who “was incredibly well-liked.” They added: “Noah’s death has created a lasting void in our lives.”
Police revealed that a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been charged following the incident. Jamie Fountain, from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces multiple counts, including causing death by careless driving and causing death while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs. He was also charged with two incidents of serious injury due to his driving. Additional charges include failing to stop at the accident scene, not reporting the crash, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Ellie Ireland, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, is charged with the same conspiracy offense. Both are set to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Of the two injured teenagers, one remains hospitalized in critical condition, while the other was treated and released, as confirmed by authorities.
